On January 9, 2015, we all watched a group of terrorists in Paris hold hostages while inflicting fear upon our world. At approximately 12:00 noon, after the siege and several deaths, I was pulled into a sleep and dreamed.
In my art practice I choose to tap into another aspect of reality: my dreams provide fresh breath and are life-giving. This realm unfailingly connects me to the essence of past, present and future, evoking justice for our planet – which sometimes suffers from inhumanity.
I believe the practice of art can illuminate darkness and, through unity of line, gesture, color and form, and the force of creation, bring God’s light and understanding and greater harmony to the world we share.
